There are many phones on the market that support eSIM (here’s the full list for 2026). However, only a few Android phones support dual eSIM. This option offers significant advantages, as it allows you to use two profiles simultaneously, opening up many possibilities for convenience and saving money.

The new technology allows a single embedded SIM (eSIM) to support more than one profile at the same time. Thanks to a feature called Multiple Enabled Profiles (MEP), introduced starting with Android 13, it’s possible to activate multiple SIM profiles on one eSIM chip.

What Does Dual eSIM Mean?

One of the new features of phones that support dual eSIM is the ability to set one profile for mobile data and another for calls and texts. You can also receive calls on both profiles at the same time.

How Does It Work?

  • Clear separation: You can set one profile for cellular data and another for calls and messages.

  • Maximum flexibility: For example, you can use one profile with a generous data plan for streaming and work, and another profile with a cheaper call plan for personal use.

  • Convenience: You can set which number appears by default for each action, and easily switch between them when needed.

Example Uses

  • Traveling abroad: Use one profile with a cheap local eSIM for data, and another with your Israeli eSIM for calls.

  • Work: Use one profile for your work number with a business data plan, and another for your personal number.

  • Separating personal and business use: Maintain a clear divide between personal and professional use, and manage your expenses more efficiently.

What Should You Check Before Starting?

  • Device support: Make sure your phone supports dual eSIM profiles and the MEP (Multiple Enabled Profiles) technology.

  • Carrier support: Not all mobile carriers support this feature, so it’s best to check with your provider before changing your plan.
