Vivo’s own official support site confirms eSIM works on most current Vivo X-series phones sold in India, including the X300, X300 Pro, X300 Ultra, X300 FE, X200T, X200 and X200 Pro, with Jio, Airtel, Vi and (on newer models) BSNL all listed as supported carriers. Most V-series phones, including the V60, V50 and V40, do not: Vivo restricts eSIM on these to other regions such as the Middle East, Africa, Europe or Latin America.

Last checked: 22 September 2026, using Vivo’s official global support pages (vivo.com/en/support), which list eSIM-supported models and, for many, a country-by-country carrier table. Vivo can update these lists and change specifications on newer batches, so it’s worth confirming on your own handset before you buy an eSIM plan.

Which Vivo phones support eSIM in India right now?

Vivo publishes an official “Which vivo phones support eSIM?” list, and separate carrier tables for many models that name the country and the operators. For the India row specifically, these are the models confirmed:

Model eSIM in India? What Vivo’s official pages say
Vivo X300 Ultra Yes India carrier table: Airtel, Jio, Vi, BSNL
Vivo X300 Pro Yes India carrier table: Airtel, Jio, Vi, BSNL
Vivo X300 Yes India carrier table: Airtel, Jio, Vi, BSNL
Vivo X300 FE Yes India carrier table: Airtel, Jio, Vi, BSNL
Vivo X200T Yes India carrier table: Airtel, Jio, Vi, BSNL
Vivo X200 Pro Yes Listed on Vivo’s eSIM-capable models list, no region limit noted
Vivo X200 Yes India carrier table: Airtel, Jio, Vi
Vivo X100 Pro Yes India carrier table: Jio, Vi, Airtel
Vivo X200 FE No Listed as eSIM-capable on Vivo’s global list, and its official carrier table covers 19 countries from Hong Kong to Italy, but India is not among them
Vivo V60 No Vivo’s own list says eSIM on the V60 is “only supported in Middle East and Africa”
Vivo V50 No Its official carrier table covers 15 countries across Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, and India is not among them
Vivo V40 No Vivo’s own list says eSIM on the V40 is “only supported in Europe & Latin America”

So if eSIM support is a must-have for you, Vivo’s current India lineup actually has more options than it first appears, as long as you stick to the X-series. The V-series, on the other hand, is largely region-locked away from India, and Vivo does not explain why in its public FAQs.

An earlier version of this page got this wrong, here’s the correction

A previous version of this article stated that only the X200 and X200 Pro support eSIM in India, and that the X300, X300 Pro and X300 Ultra do not. That was based on reading Vivo India’s individual product spec pages, which for these models did not mention eSIM at all, only two nano-SIM slots. Vivo’s own global support site, however, publishes a separate and more specific set of eSIM carrier tables, and these explicitly list India, with Airtel, Jio, Vi and BSNL, for the X300, X300 Pro, X300 Ultra, X300 FE and X200T. Where an official carrier table names India directly, we now treat that as the stronger source over a product spec page that is silent on eSIM. We’ve corrected the table above accordingly, and we’re sorry for the earlier error.

Why do different Vivo sources disagree on eSIM support?

Vivo runs an India-specific product site (vivo.com/in) alongside its global support site (vivo.com/en), and the two don’t always show the same information for the same model. In our check, the global support site’s eSIM carrier tables, which list specific operators per country, turned out to be more current and more detailed than the India product spec pages for several X-series models. The X200 FE is a case where the two sources actually agree: it’s on Vivo’s eSIM-capable list, but its official carrier table covers 19 countries and stops short of India, so we’ve marked it as not supported here rather than list it among the X-series models that work.

Third-party eSIM marketplaces and device-compatibility directories often list Vivo models as eSIM-capable too, sometimes based on the phone’s global or Chinese chipset rather than confirmed carrier support in a given country. In this case, those third-party listings and Vivo’s own global carrier tables actually point the same way for the X300 series. The safest approach is still to check the exact model you’re buying rather than assume support carries over between regions or between a spec page and a support FAQ.

Which Vivo phones support eSIM in India, based on Vivo’s official carrier tables.

Dont rely on a spec page or a listing site alone. A quick two-minute check on the phone itself tells you for certain:

  1. Dial *#06# on your phone. If a 32-digit EID number shows up alongside the IMEI, the hardware has an eSIM chip.
  2. Go to Settings > Network & internet > SIM card & mobile network (the exact wording varies by Funtouch OS or OriginOS version) and look for an “Add eSIM” or “eSIM” option.
  3. If nothing shows up, check for a pending system update, though we found no confirmed case of eSIM being unlocked by an update for the models above.
  4. An EID appearing is not a guarantee your telecom operator will activate an eSIM on it; carrier provisioning is a separate step, covered below.

How to activate eSIM on a Vivo phone with Jio, Airtel or Vi

Once you’ve confirmed your Vivo model supports eSIM in India, activation works the same way it does on any other eSIM-capable Android handset. Request the eSIM through your operator’s app, verify with an OTP, and you’ll recieve a profile to download once your carrier confirms it. Airtel’s official eSIM page lists Vivo among its supported handset brands, and Jio and Vi both support eSIM activation on compatible devices too, working off the EID and your existing account. The complete step-by-step process for all three telecom operators, including what to do if a request gets rejected, is in our guide on how to get an eSIM in India.

A practical tip: keep your physical SIM active until the eSIM profile is confirmed working, and try requesting again through the carrier’s app or a store visit if the first attempt is refused, a mismatch between the EID and the registered device is a common reason for a rejected request.

What about the Vivo Watch and other Vivo devices?

Some Vivo smartwatches support eSIM for cellular calling independent of a paired phone. That’s a seperate topic with its own carrier requirements; see our eSIM for smartwatches guide for the details rather than assuming the phone-level rules above apply to a watch.

Vivo vs other brands: how does it compare on eSIM in India?

Vivo is not alone in restricting eSIM to certain models or regions. OnePlus enables eSIM on some Indian models (the OnePlus 15 and 13) and not others, as per our OnePlus eSIM guide. Apple’s approach is different again; most iPhones sold in India still ship with a physical SIM slot alongside eSIM, as covered in our iPhone eSIM guide. Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra supports eSIM in India, detailed in our Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra eSIM guide. For a running list across every brand we’ve checked, see our full eSIM compatible phones list for India.

Vivo eSIM in India: frequently asked questions

Which Vivo phones support eSIM in India?

Per Vivo’s official support pages, the X300, X300 Pro, X300 Ultra, X300 FE, X200T, X200 and X200 Pro all list India (Airtel, Jio, Vi, and BSNL on newer models) as a supported eSIM market. The X100 Pro also supports it. The X200 FE supports eSIM elsewhere but not India, and V-series models are generally region-locked away from India too.

Does the Vivo X300 support eSIM in India?

Yes. Vivo’s official eSIM carrier table for the X300 lists India with Airtel, Jio, Vi and BSNL. An earlier version of this article said otherwise, based on a different, less specific source; that has now been corrected.

Does the Vivo V60 support eSIM in India?

No. Vivo’s own list of eSIM-supported phones states that the V60 supports eSIM “only in Middle East and Africa,” which does not include India.

Does the Vivo V50 or V40 support eSIM in India?

No. Vivo’s official carrier tables for both the V50 and the V40 cover countries across Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, and India isn’t on either list.

How do I check if my Vivo phone has eSIM?

Dial *#06# and look for a 32-digit EID next to the IMEI, then check Settings > Network & internet > SIM card & mobile network for an eSIM option. If both are missing, your unit likely does not have eSIM enabled for your region.

Will Jio, Airtel or Vi activate an eSIM on a Vivo phone?

Yes, on models that support it in India. Airtel lists Vivo among its supported handset brands, and all three operators activate eSIM using the device’s EID once you request it through their app. See our step-by-step activation guide for the full process.

Why did this article previously say the X300 series doesn’t support eSIM in India?

That was based on Vivo India’s product spec pages, which for those models list two nano-SIM slots and don’t mention eSIM at all. Vivo’s separate global support site publishes more specific eSIM carrier tables that do name India, and we now treat those as the stronger source. See the correction note above.
